Matera is a city that seems sculpted in time. Its Sassi, with their warm limestone hues and labyrinthine alleyways, are a direct expression of a memorable history transformed into eternity. The Vetera of Matera, located in the eponymous district, is the perfect embodiment of this concept: a place that thrives on its millennial-old history and expresses it through contemporary hospitality, thanks to its rooms built into the stone itself.
To translate this heritage, we selected a color palette that resonates with the city. Deep burgundy takes center stage, evoking the earthy hues of stone at sunset and the warmth of interior spaces. Alongside this, deep black adds rigor and modernity, creating a sophisticated and recognizable contrast. Together, these hues create a strong identity, rooted in the local area yet focused on the present.
The Vetera uniforms, like those for housekeeping, were designed to strike a balance between functionality and elegance. Clean-cut polo shirts, vests, and shirts are paired with practical trousers, designed to facilitate staff movement. The details are never casual: the embroidered logo becomes a distinctive feature, while the soft lines and pockets ensure operational comfort without sacrificing a refined demeanor. Each piece reflects the desire to blend tradition and modernity, embodying the spirit of the city of Matera.
Essential elegance was the core concept of this project, excerpted from the stone and translated into tangible signs. With these uniforms, Maurel has conveyed to the Vetera the soul of the Sassi, which, thanks to the instantly identifiable uniforms, lives in harmony with the unique atmosphere of this stone city.
