When you return from a trip to Los Angeles, it is inevitable to jelousy guard its fiery sunsets, the palms silhouetted against the sky and that atmosphere suspended between dream and reality. Icon of the Dorchester Collection, the Hotel Bel-Air is distinguished by its elegant classicism that, however, manages to gracefully fit into the glamorous spirit of California. It’s a place where hospitality takes on the traits of cinema and fashion and details tranform into a stylish experience.
The spirit of the Hotel Bel-Air was the inspiration for the creation of a project that was both rigorous and vibrant. Midnight blue became the chromatic base of a palette that solid and refined like the hotel’s identity. To this, we added a touch of orange as a bright accent: a detail that breaks formality with energy and freshness and evokes the liveliness of Los Angeles and its vocation for modernity.
The uniforms, manifactured with clean, tailored lines, were designed with the aim of conveying authority and charm. The blazer’s sharp cuts converse with the lightness of the fabrics while the orange details emerge as a distinctive mark, almost a reflection of the Californian sun at sunset. In this balance, the uniform remains faithful to a formal structure and at the same time takes on glamorous accents thanks to the color and the accessories, reflecting the hotel’s dual soul: international heritage and Hollywood contemporaneity.
The Hotel Bel-Air project allowed us to explore an understated refinement, capable of surprising with an unexpected pop of color; a project transformed into distinctive, elegant, functional uniforms, in which Maurel translated the exclusive character of a Los Angels icon in perfect harmony with the atmosphere ot the most authentic California.
