Collection and use of personal information

Browsing data

The information systems and software procedures designated to operate this website collect some personal information implicitly transmitted in the use of Internet communication protocols.

This information as is its nature could, through association and elaboration with information collected by third parties, allow to identify users/visitors (for example IP addresses; names of web domain used by users/visitors connecting with our website etc.).

This information will be used only to compile statistics (therefore, it is anonymous) and to check the correct functioning of the website. This information will be immediately erased after being processed.

Browsing data will not be stored for more than 30 days except in the event of eventual inspections on cybercrimes aiming to damage the website.

No information collected through the use of the website will be communicated or given to others.

Cookies will not be used to transmit any personal information. Cookies are small pieces of information sent by a web server (e.g. the website) to the Internet browser of the user, stored in the user’s computer and then automatically resent to the server every time the user visits the website.

The use of session cookies (which are not stored permanently in the user’s computer and that are erased upon closing the browser) is strictly limited to the transmission of session ID’s necessary to allow a safe and efficient navigation of the website.

Session cookies used by this website make it unnecessary to use other computer techniques potentially detrimental to the privacy of the users’ navigation and they do not allow the acquisition of personal information of the users.

This website implements persistent cookies too; in other words, cookies that will remain stored on the computer’s hard disk until they decay or the user erases them. Erasing the cookies does not prevent the use of websites and/or applications mentioned above.

With the use of persistent cookies, the users/visitors that connect with the website (or other users who might use the same computer) are automatically recognized at every visit

Users/visitors can set their browser so as to accept/refuse all cookies or to notify them every time a cookie is being sent, allowing them to decide whether to accept it or not.

By default, almost all browsers are set to accept automatically all cookies. Users can modify the initial setting, which with browser (for example Internet Explorer version 6.0) is set to medium, and disable all cookies (permanently blocking them) setting, in the appropriate board (“Privacy”), the maximum level of protection. However, disabling cookies will compromise the correct functioning of the Service.

In any case, users can erase (or eliminate) all cookies from their personal computer, selecting, always on “Internet Option” in the menu Tools, the board “General” and clicking the key <>. Erasing all cookies does not prevent the use of the Service, but entails the repetition of the identifying procedure therefore making the users fill in again their access credentials.

If the users wish to decide every time whether to accept or refuse all cookies, they can set their browser to notify them every time a cookie is saved on their computer.

The website allows the transmission of cookies from other websites or servers (third parties’ cookies) which the users/visitors may receive on their computers. This happens because on the website may be present elements such as, for example, imagines, maps, sounds, specific links to other domains’ webpages that reside on a different server than the one on which the webpage requested is set. In other words, the aforementioned cookies are managed directly by the owners of the different websites or servers. Maurel is not held responsible of “third parties’ cookies”; the functioning of those cookies is responsibility of such third parties.

Processing arrangements

Personal information is processed through automated means (for example using electronic procedures and back-ups) and/or manually (for example on paper back-ups) for no longer than is strictly necessary to achieve the purposes for which the personal information has been acquired. The entire process will be conducted following the existing regulations.

Save for what is explicitly stated for data browsing, the users/visitors are free to provide their personal information.
